Getting ready for the SIPs

Another week on since the last post.

The SIPs (structurally insulated panels) are being delivered on Wednesday.

The first load of SIPs awaiting delivery

Unfortunately we don't have space on site to offload the panels from this curtain sided vehicle, so we've had to arrange for the load to be transferred onto a trailer by a local haulier in Cranleigh, once they arrive from Yorkshire. Yet more unforeseen expense!

So this week has been about completing the block work around the outside of the frame that the SIPs will sit on.

It was a lovely sunny day when we visited but there had been a lot of rain the previous day. All of the water in the garden appears to be running down the (gently) sloping garden towards the house!

We've also had the bathroom designs this week. There are still some tweaks to make, but they're almost there.

Oh! and we've bought the bath - as there was 40% off in the sale. We just need to work out where we're going to put it for the next 6 months or so!

We've chosen the clay roof tiles - Sandtoft Barrow Dark Rusper from Wienerberger.

Exciting stuff!
