More glazing

The glazing has been installed in the dining area, which makes a big difference to the light coming into that part of the house.

The scaffolding has come down at the front of the house.

Celotex is being laid downstairs, almost ready for the concrete screed floor.

The plasterboard is going in upstairs.

Porch, underfloor heating and MVHR

A few weeks since the last post and the first fix electrics are complete. So now the underfloor heating and MVHR (mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system) are going in.

The porch is also on and most of the cladding and guttering.

The first floor stud walls are in and the plasterboard is going in the bedrooms over the garage.

The laundry chute is under construction.

We've had the week off work and have managed to make some good progress in finalising the kitchen design, choosing bathroom tiles and sourcing bathroom counter tops. We also found an oak wash stand in a clearance sale, which we're going to use for our ensuite shower room. 

We've tried out a few sofas and beds this week, which we'll need to order soon. We went to the ideal home exhibition today and came away having put a deposit down on a cooker, fridge freezer and wine chiller. Julian was also very tempted by the pizza ovens!!
